There is not much time left for the final grand slam of the year. The 2 week tournament in New York is set to begin on August 30th and end September 12th, 2010.
The U.S Open this year, will be awarding each of its singles champions $1.7 million which is the highest in the tennis history so far. This is an increase of 7% from last year.
Nadal having won both the French Open and Wimbledon is the favorite although he has never won the tournament in Flushing Meadows. Federer, having dropped to #3 after his early exit at Wimbledon, will have his chance on the hard court to show that he is not done yet.
The two rivals made history over the past 6-7 years in men’s tennis. It will be a fun tournament this year.
